Genesis Rodriguez was conceived in Miami, Florida. She is the daughter of Jose Luis 'El Puma' Rodriguez, the famous Venezuelan actor and singer, and Carolina Perez, a Cuban model. There are two half-sisters to her. She was a student at the Carrolton School of the Sacred Heart, Miami. Rodriguez knew as a child she wanted to be an actor. She took summer classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and continued her acting training. She was successful and won roles in Spanish languages, such as Prisionera (2004), Dame Chocolate (2007) and Dona Barbara (2008). She also appeared as Sarah on the hit TV show "Entourage" (2004).
