Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist.
She previously worked as the TV reporter for ABC News. She is most famous for
her work as cohost on Good Morning America Weekend, from 2014 to 2018, and host
of The View, 2015-2018. Prior to that, she was co-anchoring World News Now as
well as America This Morning. After graduating, she worked in several
communications-related jobs including an operations position at Mills/James
Productions in Columbus, Ohio. Due to the lack of opportunities available on TV,
she took a job as an agent for sales at radio. She was recruited as a WKEF/WRGT
production assistant. She later became a anchor and reporter. She was the
weekend anchor for WCPO TV in Cincinnati and the anchor for weekdays for WCPO
TV in Cincinnati from 2002 to 2005. Her contract was terminated and she was a
reporter and anchor for NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV, Chicago, from November 2005 to
December 2011. In December 2011, she was recruited by ABC News the news
division of ABC. She made her debut for the ABC News network on World News Now
and America This Morning on January 2 in 2012. In this period, she played a
role as a fill-in on Good Morning America as well as being a correspondent. She
was later appointed a New York-based reporter for all ABC News programs. The
final show of World News Now and America This Morning was on January 22nd 2013.
On September 9, 2014, she was announced as the co-anchor of Good Morning
America Weekend, following the departure of Bianna Golodryga, who moved to
Yahoo! News. ABC announced that she would join The View as a cohost for season
19. The show announced on August 3 this year that she was renewed for her
contract for the 20th season. Season 21 also saw her renewed as cohost. During
the series' 22nd and 21st seasons she was mainly on screen during the series'
Friday-night episodes.
