Seehorn, born May 12, 1972 is an American actress. She is well-known for her
role as the attorney Kim Wexler on AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-2018), for
which she was given the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress in a TV
Series, Miniseries, or Television Film. She's also been in NBC's Whitney
(2011)-2013, ABC's I'm with Her(2003)-2004 and TNT's Franklin & Bash
(2011)-2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn was conceived in Norfolk, Virginia on May 12
1972. Her mother was the executive secretary in the United States Navy, her
father was an agent of the Naval Investigative Service. The family resided in
Washington, D.C., Arizona, Japan, and often moved around during her early
years. Following the footsteps of her father and grandmother and mother, she
was a student of drawing, painting, and architecture from a young age. She
continued to study the art of drawing, but also developed a growing passion for
acting and was introduced into contemporary theater during her college. She
received a BA degree in Studio Art from George Mason University in 1994. While
at university, Seehorn was looking to be a theater actor, following the
encouragement of her acting teacher. She was employed in ancillary positions in
the theatre industry in D.C. to try to make her stand out. She managed to land
certain part in local theater productions. However, she still had to work odd
jobs to survive. To pay for her expenses she was also able to take on roles in
short instructional films. She soon began to be involved in more TV
productions. Her role was often compared to Bea Arthur, who she described as
"very humorous," "sarcastic, and very intelligent" women.
These roles were usually cancelled after just one or two seasons. Seehorn was the
lead in Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff series. Seehorn plays Kim
Wexler, who is a lawyer , and also the love of Jimmy McGill/Saul Wellman (Bob
Odenkirk).
